500 years ago, courageous people successfully fought against the inertia of habit and the wear and tear of tradition. But even today, there are people around the world who are working for change. In Tanzania, for example, it is Bahati Mshani who is committed to the many orphans in her country and, thanks to her commitment, can see that significantly more boys and girls in the catchment area of her church are getting a school education.
Wanted: Reformers of today
Friedrich Weibel, coordinator for church partnerships at Mission 21, told us about this during the service in the Protestant Reformed Church in Birsfeld. Pastor Peter Dietz invited Mission 21 because he is impressed by the fall campaign. The campaign calls for support of people who work for more justice. Birsfelden supports this goal with the church service collection.

Visitors to the service were given further information over coffee afterwards - and the opportunity to see themselves as reformers for once. It doesn't take much to see oneself in a different light, perhaps as a pioneer for a better world.
