MCT-SP, Moravian Church in Tanzania, Southern Province
The Moravian Church in Tanzania was founded in 1891 in East Africa. There, the church has about 800,000 members. The church is divided into provinces. Mission 21 is closely connected to two of them. Both the South and Southwest Provinces of the Moravian Church in Tanzania are highly regarded for their educational and social work. The provinces of the Moravian Church in Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi belong to the Unitas Fratrum/Moravian Church, an ecumenically open church divided into 27 provinces worldwide. Its roots lie in the Reformation in Bohemia and Moravia of the 15th century. Moravians are living today in more than 50 countries. The southern province of the Moravian Church in Tanzania in Rungwe has approximately 152,000 members.
