IMECH-SEDEC, Methodist Church of Chile
The development and education service SEDEC (Servicio para el desarrollo y la educación comunitaria) is part of the social work of the Methodist Church in Chile and has existed since 1983, in response to the emergency under the military dictatorship. SEDEC is involved in a women's and health project for the disadvantaged population, with values such as solidarity, respect, justice and democracy. SEDEC enjoys an excellent reputation and great trust among the target population in the slums. Collaboration with government agencies, health posts and schools has become increasingly important in recent years. SEDEC sees itself as a non-profit NGO that is open to all interested parties - regardless of their religious or political affiliation. Mission 21 has been working with SEDEC since 1984.
