Lively cities pack a punch with incomparable cultural richness and typical South American flair. Peru offers a wide variety of scenic contrasts, from the dry desert and sand dunes on the coast to the snow-capped mountains and volcanoes in the Andes and the lush Amazon rainforest. The country is historically and culturally shaped by the empire of the Incas and colonization by Spain, the state is unstable and the distribution of the great wealth is very unfair.
Bolivia is one of the highest and most isolated countries on the continent. A country full of contrasts, it lies at the widest point of the Andes Cordillera and has no access to the sea. Although 67 percent of the population live on the poverty line and Bolivia's economic development is impaired. However, the country has incredible cultural and natural wealth. More than half of its inhabitants are of indigenous descent and they maintain their traditional customs and beliefs. In terms of landscape, its natural diversity ranges from rugged mountain peaks to lonely, cold plateaus to subtropical jungle and steppes in the Amazon lowlands.
The meeting trip is organized from April 14 to May 2 2026 by the Reformed Parish Office for the Global Church BL/BS in cooperation with Mission 21 and the Basel Mission.
