As a health advisor and medicinal herb specialist, Solveig Schrickel supports a project run by our partner organization SEDEC in Chile. In her new newsletter, our colleague explains how she teaches adults, children and young people about medicinal herbs.
In addition to plant knowledge, the pupils also learn a lot about Solveig Schrickel's country of origin. "The best chocolate is made in Switzerland," the Chilean children heard on television. So that they could make up their own minds, Solveig Schrickel brought them a sweet surprise.
However, Solveig Schrickel also describes unpleasant developments. Climate warming is having severe consequences in Chile and water has become a profitable commodity. There is also cause for concern at a political level: a new constitution is a long way off and drug-related crime dominates the news.
We hope you enjoy reading this newsletter and would like to thank you for your interest and support!
